Annual report 2022




The Annual Review October 2022 by Sarah Fell, President of Leicester ladies WI

Thanks to the committee for their support over the year. We continued Zooming for a couple of months & then got back to some normality in February.

November 2021

Speaker – Bonti who demonstrated croqueted Christmas wreaths on curtain hoop (in person & Zoom)

December 2021

Group Christmas lunch cancelled due to Covid restrictions!

January 2022

Speaker -Matthew Eames from Leicester City Council – waste & environmental department

Discussed shortlist of forthcoming resolutions (Zoom)

February

Hosted Cromwell Group meeting with a Pancake supper (in person & Zoom)

Venue provided a nice supper and we had local comedian, Ben Ennis entertaining us, followed by the tradition pancake race

March

Unfortunately our planned speaker cancelled.

We discussed resolutions, then had some table games/quiz

April

Alpaca walk – got a mention in the County News

May

Speaker – Susie Lickman from Windowsill plants in Market Harborough talking about houseplants (+Zoom)

June

Speaker – Katherine Round from Bodyshop, talked about the history and ethos of the brand (+Zoom)

July

Speakers – Authors Adrienne Vaughan & Lizzie Lamb, Romantic Crime & romance with history

August

Postponed due to weather ! & several members being on holiday

September

Speaker - Carol, Blue Badge walking tour of Leicester, pointing out inspiring Ladies from Leicester

March: Annual council meeting – cancelled due to Covid

June: NFWI annual meeting in Liverpool, Teresa & I attended: speaker Sara Clark Black rod. Resolution past - Women and Girls with ASD & ADHD - under-identified, under-diagnosed, misdiagnosed, under-supported

May: several members attended Peatling Magna afternoon tea & Fete

July: Federation Quiz – spoilt by being very hard

October: Cromwell group meeting – Platinum Jubilee, in memory of queen plus afternoon tea
